Leading Change Canada is seeking two to six Directors to join its inaugural Board. If you are passionate about the role of young people in the transition to a sustainable, prosperous, and socially just future and can bring experience and expertise to support an early-stage not-for-profit organization, we encourage you to apply.
Leading Change Canada is currently in the process of becoming a federally incorporated non-profit organization registered in the province of Ontario. The Board of Directors will serve as the organization’s legal governance body and be responsible for the adoption of bylaws and policies, the establishment of any special committees, the stewardship of long-term financial health, and the fulfillment of the organization’s mission.
Status updates will be provided monthly and the Board is expected to meet on a quarterly basis by phone or video conference. The approximate time commitment is 5-7 hours / month depending on circumstances, committee involvement, and/or special events.
Terms of Directors appointed will range from one to three years to ensure the entire board does not turn over at the same time.
We are looking for two to six dedicated individuals from diverse backgrounds to form Leading Change Canada’s first Board of Directors. These Directors will join the Chair to form a total board composition of three to seven Directors.
Directors will be selected based on the organization’s current priorities, outlined below, and fit with the other Board members and Leading Change management team.
We are looking for individuals with expertise in one or more of the following areas to support the organization during this exciting development phase:

We recognize that structural barriers shape experiences and opportunities and take this into consideration with screening and selection decisions.

Interviews with candidates will be conducted throughout August and September, with a target of onboarding Directors by September 6, 2019.
