For the third year in a row, The Delphi Group has conducted a benchmarking study comparing our client to other similar companies regarding what is being publicly disclosed and communicated about the impacts of sustainability risks, climate change and GHG regulations on their business within their financial reports (Annual Reports, AIF, and US SEC documents). Reporting requirements from the Canadian Securities Administrators and the US Securities Exchange Commission are used for guidance. In addition, this project compared how Canadian energy companies who operate and publically trade their stock in the U.S.A. report environmental risks against what is expected of them under the guidelines for foreign issuers.
19 different companies were compared against both each other and against the previous benchmarking studies Delphi completed in the past. Any gaps were documented, as well as any changes or trends for each company. Results were also analyzed to summarize the quality of company filings. All of the results were presented in report, information tables and presentation format.
