Scouts Canada today announced that it has developed a new Climate Change Education Action Program (CCEAP) for its members. Over 100,000 Canadian youth will have the opportunity to actively contribute to reducing greenhouse gasses – a cause of climate change.
Scouts Canada, in collaboration with an Ottawa environmental firm, the Delphi Group, has developed a comprehensive climate change program that will include awareness activities, ideas on how to reduce household greenhouse gas emissions and instructions on how to conduct an energy audit. To complement our current environmental programming, leaders will be encouraged to work with youth on the activities during their regular weekly section meetings.
