Here at Delphi, we have taken our commitment to walk the talk on sustainability one step further, by installing and commissioning a 4 kilowatt (kW) rooftop solar photovoltaic (PV) system. The solar PV panels are installed on the roof of our CEO, Mike Gerbis', residence. We examined the feasibility of installing them on the roof of the Delphi office, however the tall buildings in the neighbourhood drastically affect the amount of sunlight reaching the roof. Mike’s home has an excellent view of the sky and therefore the solar panels will work at their optimal potential there.

The system is now connected and supplying power to the Ontario grid, under the Ontario Power Authority’s microFIT program. We are excited to be part of the growing group of small, clean power producers in the province and also bringing Ottawa closer to the 1000 Solar Rooftop goal! Read a case study on the system here.
