Your Best Solution for Sustainable Fleet Management

The Delphi Group offers a solution to vehicle fleet managers and sustainability practitioners who are trying to improve the environmental performance of their fleet. In particular the solution appeals to organizations that are trying to reduce their environmental impacts related to their vehicle use, but are having difficulty prioritizing solutions. For example, in order to make decisions the following questions need to be answered:

• What will the economic and environmental impact be from purchasing hybrid vehicles?
• How much benefit will I realize from increasing biodiesel consumption, and how much will it cost?
• If the price premium’s associated with plug-in and electric-only vehicles goes down in the future, how much will it cost me to meet my environmental target?
• How much is idling costing us, and how much does it contribute to our environmental footprint?

The solution tool Delphi has developed is based on the work we’ve done with multiple clients which has focused on solving the following issues:

2. Quantifying the environmental and economic (fuel savings) benefit from a wide variety of fleet initiatives, including:
   • Hybrid and electric vehicles

Functionality

The Green Fleet solution tool provides clients with the ability to modify the following inputs:

• Changes to planned vehicle replacements, with the effect of the modifications taking place against the real world situation for the organization – recorded in a year by year list
• Different scenarios with a variety of vehicle options
• Fuel efficiency improvements in new vehicle choices, including the option for plug-in and electric-only vehicles
• Biofuel amounts, and changes to the overall percentage year-by-year
• Premium costs associated with different vehicles
• Improvements in fuel efficiency through driver training and other related programs.

Reporting Outputs

The Green Fleet solution tool provides clients with the following reports in both tabular and graphical outputs:

1. Progress towards a fleet-wide environmental greenhouse gas target
2. Comparison of a variety of user- defined scenarios across the key output categories
3. Annual fuel efficiency improvements
4. Fuel cost impacts of the various scenarios (including electricity)
5. Changes in total vehicle numbers in each class
6. Capital cost changes over time
7. Idling time and cost (if GPS data is available).
