A framework document was developed that outlines a path forward on many of the issues that prevented past forest offset protocol development.
The overall process was well received by participants, who viewed it as a significant and meaningful step towards addressing past challenges and realizing the associated environmental and business benefits.
The highly collaborative sessions brought industry and government together – a new approach for the Alberta government. It is expected to be used as a model for other processes going forward.
